Echoes of Her Choice
A Poetic Retelling from Epimetheus’ Perspective
Of Myth and Lore
Love can be blind. Sometimes, it watches as the world fractures, powerless to stop the storm. This poem captures the sorrow, regret, and enduring devotion of Epimetheus as Pandora opens what should have remained sealed.
Echoes of Her Choice
I watched your hands tremble in the light,
A moment of weakness, a deadly fight.
You opened what should have stayed sealed tight,
And now we are lost; no wrong can make it right.
I warned you then, but love is blind.
All that remains is sorrow to find.
One glance, one key, the seal was broken,
And every wound now hangs unspoken.
Pandora, what have you done?
Shadows unleashed, blocking out the sun.
In your heart, I see the quiet regret,
A price we cannot, will not forget.
The world burns on, fate undone,
The storm you started has only begun.
Yet still, my love remains for you,
Even after all we’ve been through.
I told you of greed, of rage, of despair,
Of the darkness that waited hidden there.
But curiosity lured you closer each day,
And now we both must pay the way.
Through all the pain, through every tear,
I hold you close despite the fear.
Chaos rages around us, wild and unbound,
Yet in your heart, my love is found.
Pandora, what have you done?
Shadows unleashed, blocking out the sun.
I see your remorse, I feel your strife,
But still, I love you beyond this life.
Even as the world reels in despair,
Even as hope flickers through the air,
I forgive you, though the world may not,
And cling to the bond that fate forgot.
