The Tale of Medusa

↪ Poetic Retelling
Of Myth and Lore

(Let me tell you a story, of a Gorgon’s curse and a hero’s quest)

Medusa, once beautiful, a maiden fair,
Cursed by Athena, with a serpent’s hair.
Her gaze could turn the bravest to stone,
A fate so cruel, she stood alone.

Once a priestess, now a monster’s plight,
Trapped in a cave, out of sight.

Perseus came, with a mirrored shield,
To face the Gorgon in the darkened field.
With courage and skill, he sought her end,
To free the world from the curse she’d send.

Medusa’s gaze, so cold and grim,
Turned heroes to stone on a whim.
But Perseus fought with shield and sword,
Against the curse, his spirit roared.

A monster’s curse, a hero’s quest,
The tale of Medusa, put to rest.
In legends old, her story lives,
A lesson of grace that the mythic gives.

With winged sandals and a head of gold,
Perseus braved the dark and cold.
He severed the head, a trophy won,
And freed the world from the Gorgon’s stun.

But Medusa’s tale would never fade,
In shadows cast, her legend stayed.

(So remember her name when you see the stone, and the hero who faced her all alone)
