The Tale of Orpheus and Eurydice
Orpheus strummed the strings of fate,
A melody that could pierce the gates.
Eurydice, his light, his muse,
Taken too soon, the world to lose.
He descended where shadows dwell,
Through gates of grief, through silent hell.
His song unbroken, his plea unbound,
Each note a bridge from grief to sound.
“Return to me,” he whispered low,
“From darkness deep, from shadowed woe.”
The Fates themselves leaned close to hear,
A mortal heart, both brave and clear.
Her footsteps followed, soft and near,
A promise tethered to love and fear.
One glance forbidden, one step too slow,
And back to darkness she must go.
Orpheus wept, a song of pain,
Yet through his loss, his art remained.
The underworld kept its cruel design,
But his melody would transcend time.
In every strum, in every chord,
